Frequently Asked Questions

Ordering

Something I’m interested in is out of stock. When will it be available again?

Our inventory is constantly changing. If there is a plant that you’re interested in and want know when it will be back in stock, you can sign up for the waiting list for that product directly on the product page. When the item is back in stock, we’ll email you to let you know. Alternatively, you can email us at info@wanderlustnursery.com or visit our Contact page with your request. We may be able to find one!

What size plant will I receive?

When ordering from us, you’ll see plants sold by “Pot Size”. We use a variety of plant pot sizes and plant size will vary throughout the growing season. In order to reduce the weight of shipping, some plants may be shipped bare root, kept moist with wood shavings or sphagnum moss. We normally ship plants in the following pot sizes:

Small Band Pot: 2.25" x 2.25" x 5"

Medium Band Pot: 2.5" x 2.5" x 5.5"

1 Pint or 4" Pot: 3.5" x 3.5" x 4.25"

Large Band Pot: 3.5" x 3.5" x 6"

1 Quart: 4.5” x 4.5” x 5” or round 4.5” x 5”

1 Gallon: 5.5" x 5.5" x 6" or round 6.5" x 7"

What kinds of payments do you accept?

We accept VISA, Master Card, Discover, PayPal, checks by mail, and cash at local sales events. Your credit or debit card will be charged upon placing your order. If we are unable to fulfill your order, we will refund your order and communicate this to you.

I’ve changed my mind, can I cancel my order?

You may cancel your order anytime before your order has shipped. Once plants have been shipped, we can no longer offer a refund. For order cancellations, a full refund will be issued back to the original payment method, minus a 4% credit transaction fee. For example, an order for goods at $25 that is canceled will receive a refund of $24, bearing a $1 fee to cover the cost of the credit transaction.

Do you withhold sales tax?

We withhold state and local sales tax for all orders shipped with Washington State, which is included in the advertised price. For orders shipped outside of Washington State, we do not withhold sales or use tax except where required. For more information, click here.

Shipping

Do you ship to my country?

We are currently only shipping within the contiguous United States, which excludes Hawaii, Alaska, and the U.S. Territories. We may offer international shipping in the future, so please stay tuned for more information.

How much does shipping cost?

We ship using First Class Mail or Priority Mail through the United States Postal Service (USPS) and 3 Day Select through the United Parcel Service (UPS) and all shipments are insured and come with tracking. Our website will calculate shipping automatically during checkout, but if there’s a problem with the amount charged we will contact you concerning either partially refunding an overcharge or invoicing for the necessary shipping balance prior to shipping your order. After shipment, if actual shipping costs come in below the amount the amount charged, we will issue a partial refund for the difference to your original form of payment. We hope to refine and reduce estimated shipping costs as we grow our business.

If you are ordering only seeds, your order will ship at a flat rate of $6.00, which includes tracking. Depending on the shipping zip codes, live plants will have an estimated shipping rates at a base of $14, $18, or $22 for the first plant and an additional $5.00 for each subsequent plant. For palm ivory products like our Tagua Nuts, we offer shipping at a flat rate of $9.00.

When will my order ship?

New orders typically ship within 14 days of receipt of payment. We generally ship orders early in the week, but if you have any shipping preferences, please include your requests in the notes of your order and we will do our best to accommodate.

All orders will include tracking and a tracking number will be provided to the email address provided in the order at the time of shipment.

Please note that we cease shipping live plants during the winter months in order to avoid freeze damage to plants in transit. We ship seeds and palm ivory products year round and we accept “spring pre-orders” for plants in the winter months which will ship as early as February, depending on regional weather conditions.

Customer Service

How do I cancel an order?

You may cancel your order at any time up until your product ships. Once the plants have left the nursery, we can no longer accommodate cancellations.

How do I return an order?

Because plants are living things, return shipping is not in the best interest of the plant. If you have any concerns about your order after you’ve received it, please contact us at info@wanderlustnursery.com and we will work with you to come up with a solution on an individual basis.

My plants arrived damaged, now what?

We do our best to package the plants to avoid damage to them in shipping, but some minor damage can be reasonably expected.

If your plant sustains major damage, please contact us at info@wanderlustnursery.com within 5 days of receipt of your plants, and we will work with you to address your concerns. Major damage is physical damage to the extent where you would not expect the plant to recover.

Photos must be provided of the plants as they arrived, specifically:

  • The unopened package if visibly damaged

  • The plant(s) inside the opened package

  • The plant(s) after removal from the package

The reason we ask for photos is because we purchase shipping insurance through our shipping partners, and this evidence is required in order for us to submit a claim.

Do you have a warranty on your plants?

We guarantee that our plants are labelled correctly and are in good health when they leave the nursery. We do not guarantee that the plants will not be damaged in shipping, thrive, or be productive in your climate and growing conditions. There are many variables outside of our control after the plants leave the nursery, including soil type, climate, weather, irrigation practices, for which we will not be held responsible. However, if you suspect that your plants have sustained damage in transit, please contact us as soon as you reasonably can.
