Andean Blueberry

$5.00

Vaccinium floribundum

A rare and uncultivated huckleberry species native to the Andes mountains of South America. Very closely related to the Evergreen Huckleberry, Vaccinium ovatum, which it bears a striking resemblance to. While plants have a similar form and habit, fruit is about twice the size of Evergreen Huckleberry.

Plants are evergreen and have dense, boxy, dark-green foliage with vibrant, bronze new growth. Andean Blueberry typically grows to six feet high and is easily pruned to shape. This adaptable shrub tolerates full sun or moderate shade and is drought tolerant, but prefers acidic soils.

Cold hardy to USDA zone 8a or to 10 degrees Fahrenheit.

We currently have dried seed harvested from our plants in 2024 available in packs of 20 seeds.
