Blue Crown Passionflower
Passiflora caerulea
Blue Crown Passionflower is a twining, climbing vine native to the temperate regions of South America. Like it’s close cousin, the Passion Fruit, Blue Crown Passionflower produces an edible fruit that can be used in juices, jams, wines, and eating fresh out of hand. Exotic, intricate flowers have frilly edges, white petals, purple filaments, and a distinctive blue corona. We also carry a pure white flowering variety called ‘White Crown’.
Blue Crown Passionflower is one of the hardiest Passiflora, tolerating winter temperatures as low as 5 degrees Fahrenheit. Plants are evergreen in warm climates but can die back to the roots in colder climates during the winter. Vines will regrow from the energy stored in the roots in late spring, quickly reclaiming their former glory. Blue Crown Passionflower is adaptable and tolerates a wide range of conditions, but prefers part or full sun and occasional water.
Cold hardy to USDA zone 7b and above, or 5 degrees Fahrenheit.
For sale are 1 gallon potted plants
