Santa Rosa Fuchsia
Fuchsia sanctae-rosae
Santa Rosa Fuchsia is a perennial shrub native to the temperate mountains of Southern Peru and Bolivia. Like many garden Fuchsia, Santa Rosa Fuchsia is a wonderful ornamental plant that flowers continuously from late spring through fall. Vibrant, orange, tubular flowers are a hit with hummingbirds and bumblebees alike. This uncommon species is a somewhat hardy Fuchsia, tolerating light frosts. While very cold temperatures may cause the plant to die down to the ground, they may come back from the roots in spring.
Growing up to six feet high and wide, Santa Rosa Fuchsia has an upright habit and large, showy leaves. Plants are not picky to soil conditions but prefer regular moisture. We recommend feeding Fuchsia regularly to encourage heavy blooming.
Cold hardy to USDA Zone 9b or to 25 degrees Fahrenheit.
