Grevillea 'Canberra Gem'

$33.00

Grevillea rosmarinifolia x juniperina ‘Canberra Gem’

Grevillea ‘Canberra Gem’ is a vigorous hybrid between Grevillea rosmarinifolia and Grevillea juniperina, both of which are evergreen shrubs native to Southeastern Australia. Like its parents, ‘Canberra Gem’ is grown for its ease-of-care, attractive foliage, and striking display of spidery, vivid pink flowers. This selection has a dense, mounding habit with fine, needle-like foliage that give the plant a feathery texture. As a winter-blooming plant, ‘Canberra Gem’ is a great nectar plant for hummingbirds and other pollinators.

Plants grow to five feet high and wide, are drought tolerant once established, and perform well in poor soils, so long as they are well-draining. Unlike many Grevillea, ‘Canberra Gem’ tolerates cool, wet winters and moderate frosts. We recommend full sun, low water, and no fertilizer with phosphorous.

Cold hardy to USDA Zone 8b or to 15 degrees Fahrenheit.
