Parablechnum novae-zelandiae
syn. Blechnum novae-zelandiae

Kiokio, also known as Palm-leaf Fern, is an evergreen fern native to the temperate rainforests of New Zealand. In the wild, Kiokio forms dense, spreading colonies from creeping rhizomes, often carpeting forest floors, stream banks, and disturbed areas. The distinctive, wide fronds have a crinkled, leathery texture and new foliage often emerges in tones of pink, bronze, and red.

Plants will grow over three high in time and will gently spread to form a colony with time. Kiokio prefers morning sun or dappled shade and moist, well-drained soils.

Cold hardy to USDA Zone 8a or to 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
