Pacific Coast Hybrid Irises are a diverse group of hybrids between multiple west coast native iris species including Iris douglasiana, Iris innominata, and Iris munzii. There are many named selections in the horticultural trade with flower colors ranging from white, yellow, red and blue with nearly all shades between. All of these selections have the same habits and requirements, with compact, evergreen foliage and relatively low water needs. Pacific Coast Hybrid Irises are often under a foot tall and have large, showy flowers from late February through April.
Like many plants native to western North America, Pacific Coast Hybrid Irises are adapted to Mediterranean climates characterized by cool, wet winters and hot, dry summers. In the garden, this means that they require little supplemental water during the summer months. They appreciate good drainage and acidic or neutral soils. Plants will perform best in partial shade, avoiding full sun in the heat of the day. Our plants are an assorted mix of flower colors, so each plant will be a surprise.
Cold hardy to USDA zone 8a or to 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
For sale are 1 gallon potted plants
