Rubus spectabilis

Salmonberry is a deciduous raspberry species native to the Pacific Northwest of North America, from southern Alaska to Northern California and as far east as Idaho. Salmonberries are a quintessential member of temperate rainforests and their delicious fruit are a forager’s delight. Fruit are highly variable and range from golden to burgundy in color and have a bright and citrusy flavor with earthy and spicy notes. Salmonberries ripen in late spring and early summer.

Like other raspberry species, Salmonberries form thickets of arching, thorny canes that go dormant during the winter months. While Salmonberries tolerate quite a bit of shade, you’ll get more fruit if the plant gets more sun and regular moisture. Plants can grow to reach ten feet high with time, but benefit from annual pruning.

Cold hardy to USDA zone 4a or to -30 degrees Fahrenheit.

For sale are 1 gallon potted plants
