Spanish Dagger

$28.00

Yucca aloifolia ‘Magenta Magic’

Spanish Dagger, often called Spanish Bayonet or Aloe Yucca, is a interesting evergreen shrub native to the Southeastern North America and parts of the Caribbean. Like many Yucca, Spanish Dagger grows rosettes of stiff, lanceolate leaves with pointed tips and produces stalks of showy and fragrant white flowers. The variety ‘Magenta Magic’ is a sport of the variety ‘Blue Boy’ that has attractive, mauve colored foliage that deepens during the cooler months from autumn through spring. This selection stays more compact than the straight species.

Plants grow between two and four feet high and may develop short, branching trunks with age. Spanish Dagger is drought and heat tolerant and well-adapted to poor soils, making it a low maintenance choice for the dry garden. Plants prefer full sun and good drainage.

Cold hardy to USDA zone 7a or to 0 degrees Fahrenheit

For sale are one quart potted plants
