Table Mountain Tree Fern

$25.00

Lomariocycas tabularis
syn. Blechnum tabulare

The Table Mountain Tree Fern is a large evergreen fern native to southern Africa. This uncommon “tree fern” slowly develops a short, stout trunk of three or more feet in height and has a clumping habit that will eventually create a wide specimen. The Table Mountain Tree Fern grows whorls of upright fronds which have a characteristic lite green color and a thick, leathery texture. The wide leaflets on this fern give the plant an exotic appearance, often being compared to a cycad.

Plants are moderately low-maintenance and appreciate part or full shade and consistent moisture. Table Mountain Tree Ferns will tolerate mild frosts, but if you live in a cold-winter climate we recommend keeping this one in a container. This species would make a really cool houseplant!

Cold hardy to USDA zone 9b, or to approximately 25 degrees Fahrenheit.
