Three Finger Felt Fern
$30.00
Pyrrosia hastata
This alluring relative to the more common Pyrrosia lingua sports entire, palmate fronds that give the plant a layered, tropical look. Dense clumping plants have evergreen, sage-colored leaves with three lobes and russet-colored, fuzzy undersides. Plants are relatively slow-growing and small-statured, so lend well to mass plantings, shady rock gardens, container features, or in garden borders. Plan on a mature size of just eighteen inches high and three feet wide.
This fern prefers partial to full shade and consistent moisture, but will be somewhat drought tolerant once established. Three Finger Felt Fern is fairly cold tolerant and can handle moderate frosts.
Cold hardy to USDA zone 7b, or to approximately 5 degrees Fahrenheit.
