Palm ivory is a sustainable product that it is collected from the wild and in small scale local cultivation in its native habitat. The material comes from the Tagua nut, the cured seed from the Tagua Palm, which is multiple species in the Phytelephas genus. The seeds are collected in a way that does not harm the plants, maintaining the regional ecosystem, and the crafts that we’re offering are handcrafted by local artisans in Ecuador.
