Olive Grevillea

$33.00

Grevillea olivacea (red form)

Olive Grevillea is an upright, evergreen shrub native to Southeastern Australia. Like other Grevillea it is grown for its ease-of-care, attractive foliage, and striking display of spidery, vivid flowers. Our plants are a red flowering form of this species that otherwise has a dense habit with leathery, oval foliage that looks very much like the unrelated Olive tree (Olea europaea). As a winter-blooming plant, Olive Grevillea is a great nectar plant for hummingbirds and other pollinators.

Plants grow to eight feet high and wide, are drought tolerant once established, and perform well in poor soils, so long as they are well-draining. Unlike many Grevillea, Olive Grevillea tolerates cool, wet winters and moderate frosts. We recommend full sun, low water, and no fertilizer with phosphorous.

Cold hardy to USDA Zone 9a or to 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

For sale are one gallon potted plants
