Myrica gale

A shrub that thrives in wet or boggy sites and whose leaves have a characteristic sweet, spiced flavor. Sweet Gale has had many uses throughout history in Europe, including in herbal teas, condiments and seasonings, and as a flavoring in beer, mead, and schnapps.

Cold hardy to USDA Zone 3a or to -40 degrees Fahrenheit.
